Driving and parking

The start and end of the school day are busy times for pedestrians and drivers outside schools.

Five Simple Rules for Driving and Parking Around Our School

To help keep our students, families and community safe, please remember these five simple things when arriving at and leaving school:

1. Slow down and stay alert
   School zones are busy. Drive slowly, be patient and watch carefully for children and pedestrians.
2. Park legally and safely
   Follow all parking signs and restrictions. Don't park on footpaths, across driveways, in no-stopping areas or where you block other vehicles.
3. Give pedestrians priority
   Always watch for children and families crossing roads and entering or leaving the school.
4. Don't double park or stop in the middle of the road
   Even if you're only stopping for a moment, double parking can obstruct traffic and create dangerous blind spots for children.
5. Put the phone away
   Don't use your mobile phone while driving. Your full attention should be on the road and the children around you.
